State Hillary Clinton injured her elbow


Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton injured her elbow late Wednesday on her way to to the White House. She was briefly treated at a hospital and will be undergoing surgery next week.

The 61-year-old former first lady was on her way to the White House when she fell and fractured her right elbow, according to a statement from Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills to ABC. The secretary was released from the George Washington University Hospital but will have to undergo surgery.,

Clinton's Wednesday schedule was hectic as in other days, and included a keynote before the U.S.-India Business Council in Washington, private talks with Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman, a swearing-in ceremony for Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Robert Blake and a meeting with National Italian American Foundation.

Her schedule for Thursday has not been announced. Her only upcoming overseas trip is a visit to India in July.
