Troubled actress-singer Lindsay Lohan is looking for a lover

Troubled actress-singer Lindsay Lohan is looking for a lover who does not mind her alleged alcoholism or other repelling habits, she revealed in a mock Internet dating profile.

Lohan, whose recent breakup with her lesbian partner Samantha Ronson has been covered by the media, stars in a dating profile posted online Monday on FunnyOrDie.com that parodies similar videos created for matchmaking company eHarmony, reports the China Daily online.

"I would define my personality as creative, a bit of a night owl... I'm a workaholic, a shopaholic and according to the state of California, an alcoholic as well as a threat to all security guards if they work at hotels," she said.

Lindsay Lohan seems to have turned a new leaf after the split with DJ Samantha Ronson and dating numerous Hollywood celebrities as the actress has now found love in a web entrepreneur. She is dating 36-year-old Ben Holz, a Seattle based entrepreneur who is currently holidaying with her in Hawaii, reported Ace

Will you miss Matt Giraud on American Idol 2009?

Last night was the last time that Matt Giraud would be saved, as he was voted of American Idol 2009. Fans of Giraud will be angry that he has gone, but after receiving the lowest votes from the 47 million votes that came in, the young hopeful had used all of his lives up.

This week not only was Matt Giraud singing, he was also dancing along, as he seemed to be enjoying Rat Pack night. I am glad that he was, as I have to say that it had to be one of the worst weeks yet.

The show is going from worse to worse each season, and I have to wonder if Matt Giraud had a lucky escape. The show used to produce some great talent, but it looks as though there is not much left in America.

Simon Cowell may walk away from American Idol

Simon Cowell has publicly declared that he may walk away from American Idol when his contract expires after next season, hinting (repeatedly), "Maybe it's time for a change." That should have executives quaking in their loafers, as Cowell is the face of a show that's not only No. 1 in all of television, it's essentially Fox's ATM. (Portfolio estimated it brings in $6.4 billion a year for the network.) And though ratings are down 12 percent since this time last year, it's pretty much the only show that can consistently nab 25 million viewers. "It's like if Alan Alda left M*A*S*H or Ted Danson left Cheers," says Horizon Media analyst Brad Adgate. "How do you replace someone who's the essence of why people watch?" (Fox and Cowell declined to comment.)

The snark-master certainly has viewer sentiment on his side, and season 7 finalist Michael Johns agrees, telling EW that Idol sans Simon would be like "a golf tournament without Tiger Woods."

While Cowell has threatened to quit Idol before -- even over seemingly minor matters, like the season 6 Sanjaya debacle -- this time seems different. After seven years of intercontinental commuting between the L.A. Idol set and his London-based pet projects -- The X Factor and the increasingly buzzed-about Britain's Got Talent -- the 49-year-old megamogul sounds exhausted. And he certainly doesn't need the cash: Britain's recent Sunday Times "Rich List" pegged his net worth at a recession-proof $175.2 million.

Moreover, he's hinted that he's itching to bring The X Factor to the U.S., which his current deal prohibits. But that's hardly a surefire move. Yes, Cowell struck gold with AI and America's Got Talent (for which he's an exec producer). But remember the other reality shows he produced here? You know, American Inventor, Celebrity Duets, and Cupid? We don't either. And the prospect of finding a new monster hit gets dicier every day, Adgate says: "That's not an indictment of Simon Cowell -- it's more a comment on the TV landscape. I think there's only one American Idol."

Week 7 Power Rankings: 'AMERICAN IDOL' 8

What makes this year’s crop of Idols so interesting is that everyone left is actually pretty good.
“Rat Pack Week” made that clear, as each of the contestants made a play to energize a fanbase. Adam Lambert played the drama of “Feeling Good” expertly, using the control of his voice and his impressive range to sell a unique interpretation of the classic. Kris Allen’s “The Way You Look Tonight,” as Simon Cowell pointed out, was predictably nice and innocent – perhaps the polar opposite of Lambert’s more, um, worldly delivery. And Allison Iraheta, who maybe wouldn’t have to pretend to be nice and innocent, vamped up “Someone to Watch Over Me,” singing it well, though a little too eager to show off vocally instead of telling the story of the song, something mentor Jamie Foxx, who proved to be a pretty insightful coach, tapped into.
Foxx’s advice for Matt Giraud was right on target. However, Giraud couldn’t quite carry it out. Lowering the key was the right move, but Giraud really couldn’t handle the lower notes of “My Funny Valentine” properly.
Danny Gokey’s “Come Rain or Come Shine” was an uneven mess, moving from a boring middle to an over-sung end in a matter of measures. Of course, Gokey supporters (including the judges) will eat that up. Never mind if he believes it or if it was stylistically good. Winning at all costs is what matters to Gokey and seeing that drive appeals to a lot of his fanbase. That probably makes him the safest one of the bunch tonight.

THE RANKINGS

Adam Lambert, “Feeling Good”
Kris Allen, “The Way You Look Tonight”
Allison Iraheta, “Someone to Watch Over Me”
Matt Giraud, “My Funny Valentine”
Danny Gokey, “Come Rain or Shine”

Jennifer Garner arrives at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles

WHEN Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner arrives at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles Garner apologises in advance if Jennifer Garner doesn't make sense today. Jennifer Garner sleep-deprived and has been ever since she gave birth to her second daughter, Seraphina, in January. Her eldest daughter, Violet, is three.

You wouldn't know it to look at her. Jennifer Garner looks radiant. In fact, in her gold dress and matching gold sandals ("I'm very bad with clothes," Jannfer Garner says when asked who the designer is), Garner looks like she's spent the morning being pampered. The actress laughs. She's actually been organising the children (feeding them, being thrown up on) so dad, Ben Affleck, wouldn't feel overwhelmed when she went off to work for a few hours.

Garner is here to promote her new film, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past. It's also her birthday. She's 37 again, not that you'd know it to look at her. Her Ghosts co-star Matthew McConaughey is shocked by the revelation. "Thirty-seven, wow," he whistles. Garner smiles politely. She's known for being one of the nicest people you could ever meet so she doesn't poke him in the ribs even though he clearly meant: "Wow, you look good for your age."

The actress says cheerily: "Thirty-seven's great. I mean, everyone looks at you like: 'Oh gosh, you're on the slope to 40, are you OK?'

"First of all, 40 is no big deal any more. Did you see that Cindy Crawford shoot? [The one where 43-year-old Crawford is wearing little more than eyeliner and some strategically placed shaving foam.] Anyway, it's kind of busting the myth of 40. I love my life. I like it more than I ever have."

There's a lot to like. There's her four-year marriage to Affleck, which the naysayers predicted would never last. Garner's first marriage, to actor Scott Foley, ended in 2004 after 3 1/2 years. The family just moved into a new $17 million house in the upmarket suburb of Pacific Palisades. Neighbours include Adam Sandler, Steven Spielberg and Whoopi Goldberg. Then there's her career, which, like her family, is also blossoming.

In her latest film she plays one of the ex-girlfriends of committed bachelor Connor Mead, played by McConaughey. When they run into each other on the eve of Connor's younger brother's wedding, Garner's character, Jenny, is determined to make sure Connor and his cynical views on love don't ruin everything. But she's fighting a losing battle, which is why the ghosts of his former girlfriends decide it's time to show him the error of his womanising ways, a la Ebenezer Scrooge. Director Mark Waters chose Garner over rom-com regulars like Jennifer Aniston or Kate Hudson. It's a massive compliment because it's not what Garner is known for. She's an action girl, the woman who directors go to when they want 178 centimetres of lean, mean, sexy fighting machine. It's been like that for Garner ever since she was cast as CIA agent Sydney Bristow in Alias.From:www.smh.com.au

Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks was honored

NEW YORK — On Monday night, two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks was honored for a lifetime of career accomplishments at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's annual gala tribute.

When MTV News caught up with the 52-year-old actor on the red carpet, Hanks was at a loss for words. "I don't know what to say," he confessed. "It's the capital of the world and we blocked enough of the streets. I'm at a loss for understanding how it happened."

He may not have known exactly how to express his appreciation, but Hanks was still in a great mood, at one point busting into a quick rendition of Jackson Browne's "Linda Paloma," before escorting his wife, the actress Rita Wilson, inside the closed-door event.

The A-listers out in force to support Hanks were effusive in their praise of the Hollywood powerhouse.

"My favorite Tom Hanks anything was always 'Bosom Buddies,' " Julia Roberts told MTV News, referring to the early '80s sitcom in which Hanks made his name. "I texted my best friend this morning who I've been best friends with since I was a girl and said, 'I'm doing this thing with Tom Hanks tonight. What do you think I should say?' And she goes, 'You should talk about our utter devotion to 'Bosom Buddies.' "

Look, I'm being paid a lot of money to be here tonight," Charlize Theron said, smiling, before going on to recall working with Hanks on her first major film. "I opened my script the other day of 'That Thing You Do!,' which I was honored to be in, and he wrote in it, 'No matter what, I will always claim to have discovered you.' "

Other stars in attendance included Steven Spielberg, Sally Field, Ron Howard, Christopher Walken and Adrien Brody. In past years, the Film Society has honored Alfred Hitchcock, Elizabeth Taylor, Martin Scorsese, Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep.From:www.mtv.com/movies

“The Golden Girls” and “Maude” died early this morning of cancer

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 4/25/09 — Beatrice Arthur, the sharp-witted actress best known for her work on “The Golden Girls” and “Maude” died early this morning of cancer, family spokesperson Dan Watt said, and declined to give further details. She was 86.
An iconoclast, Arthur’s roles on stage and television shared a common thread. They helped to raise women’s profile in society during an era when doing so was a career risk.
Rue McClanahan who played Blanche Devereaux on “The Golden Girls” issued the following statement about Bea’s passing, “37 years ago she showed me how to be very brave in playing comedy. I’ll miss that courage and I’ll miss that voice.”
In 1972, after making waves as the liberal cousin of blue-collar Archie Bunker (Carroll O’Connor), CBS executives took note of the “new girl,” offering Bea Arthur her own show. Hardly a novice, Arthur was 50, had won a Tony Award, and had in her words, “done so much off-Broadway, on Broadway, but they said, `Who is that girl?’” “Maude” was a hit and Arthur won an Emmy for her outstanding performance in 1977.
“She was an incredible actress and a woman I will miss, and I think everyone else will,” said Bud Yorkin, producer of “Maude” with partner Lear.
“The Golden Girls” was another surprise success for Arthur, running from 1985-1992. The comedy series, about three retirees who share a Miami apartment, struck a chord and was a hit even among a youth and consumer-centered television landscape.
A similar character to Maude, Arthur played Dorothy, the smart and sometimes caustic daughter to Estelle Getty. Unconcerned about the two characters being too much alike, Arthur told an interviewer at the time, “Look, I’m 5-feet-9, I have a deep voice and I have a way with a line. What can I do about it? I can’t stay home waiting for something different. I think it’s a total waste of energy worrying about typecasting.”
Arthur won her second Emmy for her role on “The Golden Girls” and the show won 10 in its long run.
In 2008, Arthur was inducted in the TV Academy Hall of Fame.
Arthur is survived by her sister, sons and two granddaughters. No funeral services are planned.

'Mission Hollywood' airs in Germany starting in June.Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the teaser trailer for "Twilight"

Enough action, drama and intrigue to make them feel like they're trapped inside a reality show. Now, they're finally getting one to call their own.

Plans have been announced for a new reality show called "Mission Hollywood," which will feature 12 women competing in an "American Idol"-like competition to see who is the best actress. The prize? A role in one of the upcoming "Twilight" sequels.

But before you send in your headshot, here's the bad news: "Mission Hollywood" is a German show that will air on a network called RTL. And the young beauties have already been selected. And it likely won't even air here in the States. As a frustrated German might say: Verdammt!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will premiere in prime time June 8. Each week, the actresses will compete by acting out classic scenes from films such as "Gone With the Wind," "Dirty Dancing," "Misery" and "9 1/2 Weeks." Following the "Idol" blueprint, the actors will be judged by a panel of celebrities, including German superstar (and "Inglourious Basterds" actor) Til Schweiger, acting coach Bernhard Hiller and a third slot filled with a rotating celebrity; Carmen Electra has already signed on to make an appearance.

Some details remain vague at this time, such as which "Twilight" sequel the chosen contestant would appear in or which role would be awarded. With the much-anticipated "New Moon" already under way for a November release, it seems highly doubtful that director Chris Weitz would be able to get the "Mission Hollywood" winner into his film. Instead, the obligation may fall to newly appointed "Eclipse" filmmaker David Slade, who should begin rolling cameras in late 2009/ early 2010.

Another wild card would seem to be the famously fickle "Twilight" fanbase, who take their acting quite seriously and have thus far embraced the series' cast. Past reality stars-turned-actors such as Colleen Haskell, Trishelle Cannatella and Kyle Brandt haven't exactly set Hollywood on fire with their thespian skills — although a handful of stars including Jacinda Barrett and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson have managed in recent years to overcome the reality-show stigma.

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards are coming May 31, live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, at 9 p.m. ET. And this time, you're in charge of picking the nominees. Head over to the Movie Awards site and vote now.

Lindsay Lohan is ready to get her career

LOS ANGELES - Lindsay Lohan is ready to get her career back on track following her tumultuous break-up with DJ Samantha Ronson.

“I feel like I want to get my career back in shape,” the actress told Ellen DeGeneres during a candid interview for Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “When people are together so much, it gets really difficult and you forget who you are because you’re more concerned about being with the other person. I think it’s been really good for me. I thought it would be so much harder and it hasn’t been.”

In Lohan’s first TV interview since her split with Ronson, the actress revealed that the break-up came out of the blue.

“I think that break-ups are hard when you’re a private person,” DeGeneres said.

“Or when you don’t know you’re breaking up… really weird,” Lohan responded.

“Did you not know you were breaking up?” DeGeneres quickly asked.

“I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn’t seen her in like, a week. She like, disappeared,” Lohan said.

The actress also revealed that the news of Ronson’s family — including the DJ's twin sister Charlotte — visiting a local police station to ask about a restraining order after the break-up, came as a shock.

“I was like, ‘I don’t understand,’” Lohan said. “It came out of nowhere. I’ve supported Charlotte and I’ve never done anything for people to assume I’m dangerous.”

As previously reported on Access Hollywood, Lohan and Ronson broke up in early April after a tumultuous weekend that saw the actress reportedly banned from a launch party for Charlotte Ronson’s newest JCPenney line, which was held at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

“That whole night was just really tough and… it came out of nowhere,” Lohan said before adding that she and her ex are back on speaking terms. “Samantha and I are friends. We’re talking.”

Lohan also said that the tabloid and Internet interest in the end of their romance has “gotten completely blown out of proportion.”

Elton John closed out his five-year and song video

Elton John closed out his five-year, 241-show engagement at Caesars Palace on Wednesday with "Your Song" and hints that he might be returning to Las Vegas.

It was a night of long ovations for the Rocket Man, who started his run on Feb. 13, 2004, and kept adding dates.

In the audience for his finale was Elizabeth Hurley, her husband, Arun Nayar, American artist Julian Schnabel, jazz musician Dave Koz, and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

John wore a red shirt under a long black jacket that had "Pirates" embossed on the back and a skull and crossbones patch high on his right sleeve, with the word "captain" underneath.

After opening with "Benny and the Jets" he joked about Celine Dion's skinny frame and mused about who would fill the shoes of Celine and himself.

"American Idol" throne are only going to get stronger and Video

The recent whirlwind of rumors and hearsay claiming Simon Cowell is itching to leave his 'American Idol' throne are only going to get stronger with a new interview from the brutal judge.
In an Associated Press interview, Cowell discusses his thoughts on the future of 'Idol,' and from what he said, longevity doesn't seem to be in his future. "The idea that for the next five years, I'd be doing exactly what I've been doing for the past five years ... the thought is just too depressing," he said.

Idol Video

"I'd go nuts, bored out of my mind. You have to evolve, you have to change. I like the challenge of launching something new."
With Cowell's deal with Fox expiring at the end of next season, that something new could be a U.S. version of his U.K. singing competition series "The X Factor." Any doubts about Cowell's role in the success of "Idol" disappeared when he launched "Factor" three years ago. The similarly formatted show became a massive hit that has since supplanted "American Idol" predecessor "Pop Idol."
The "Factor" success was worrisome enough for Fox to forbid Cowell from launching the show in the U.S. while he's under his current "Idol" deal. But all that could soon change. Between the continuing popularity of "Idol" and Cowell's ownership of "Factor," he's armed with both a carrot and a stick.
Asked if he would want to stay on "Idol" if the series ever slips from No. 1 in the ratings, Cowell burst out laughing at the apparent obviousness of the answer.
"Absolutely not!" he said, looking horrified. "Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me. I don't like being No. 2. I don't mind when you start at No. 10 -- people don't always go on as No. 1 -- and you've got somewhere to go. But if you're at the point you've reached it, of course you want to stay there."
Though the "Idol" audience has declined over the past few seasons, the show remains far and away the ratings champ, with about 22 million viewers per episode. No other program approaches its popularity.
Unlike many in the TV business, Cowell rejects the claim that "Idol" ratings erosion is inevitable.

State of Play" with a friend and it was really good.

Journalism. Politics. Murder. Conspiracy. Watergate. No, "All the President's Men" was not re-released in theaters. Rather, the thriller "State of Play" opened this weekend. The film delivers a complex plot rife with the suspense of D.C. politics, journalism, and of course, murder. As if the suspenseful plot wasn't enough, the film packs an all-star cast. Newer stars, such as Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman, hold their own alongside big names, such as Russell Crowe, Helen Mirren, Ben Affleck and Robin Wright Penn. The film's complex plot and excellent acting are sure to give viewers a lot of bang for their buck.
Coming to the foreground of the film is Cal McAffrey, played by Russell Crowe. Cal is a seasoned veteran reporter who is interested in only one thing - getting the real story out there. To this end, he will overcome any legal or ethical obstacles, including taping a source without their knowledge. Method actor Russell Crowe fully immerses his persona into the role of Cal. His disheveled hair and the weight he put on for the role are likely to convince viewers that he is long past his physical prime.
Partnered alongside Cal is Della Frye, played by Rachel McAdams. She is an online political blogger, which Cal, whose loyalty is to the printed page, refers to as "online upchuck." Ms. McAdams is quite convincing as an older woman, partly due to her character's older name, and partly due to her acting talent. While the film's plot itself delivers many surprises, another surprise is the great chemistry between Crowe and McAdams. The two actors portray a fierce dualism. Old vs. New. Journalism vs. Blogging. And of course, Man vs. Woman. The odd thing about their chemistry is that there is no sexual tension whatsoever. The fact that the film does not fall into this cliché romantic plotline is refreshing. However, the writers cannot help themselves when Cal has an affair with the wife of his best friend, Stephen Collins (played by Ben Affleck). Affleck's acting is noteworthy. He does a fairly convincing job as the passionate Congressman set on dismantling a malicious defense contractor. But his acting can be a tad overdramatic at times. Nevertheless, he has certainly outgrown the days of "Paycheck" and "Daredevil."

It's Disco Week on "American Idol" Top Saven

It's Disco Week on "American Idol" (don't even get me started), and the top seven hopefuls have a huge challenge ahead of them: How do they sound contemporary while sticking to a genre that hasn't been popular since the pre-MTV era? Song selection is more important than ever, and with two people going home Wednesday night, thanks to the "judge's save" being used last week on Matt Giraud, the stakes are even higher!

Rest easy, Idols. No reason to get those Camile Velasco butterflies. We've got you covered. As long as you skirt the obvious picks and listen to our suggestions, you're in the clear.

Adam Lambert
Will Sing: Adam hasn't said "no" to a high note yet, and the glory notes in the chorus of the Alicia Bridges classic "I Love the Nightlife (Disco 'Round)" are going to prove irresistible to him and his rabid fanbase.

Should Sing: We prefer when Adam's wails are reserved for songs with substance. Why not tackle "Band of Gold" — a Motown tune later covered by disco drag star Sylvester — and show "Idol" fans that the song doesn't only belong to season-two divas Frenchie Davis and Kimberley Locke?

Our favorite Matt Giraud performance was back in Motown Week when he rocked the sex-machine swagger during "Sexual Healing." We suspect he could light up Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" by tickling those ivories. At the very least, Kara would feel it.

Miss USA contest in gay marriage controversy

The prestigious Miss USA contest turned ugly after a gay marriage question by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton sparked outrage from the audience and "ugly" fights outside.

Scandal at Miss USA

Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton took out the crown, beating 50 other beauties in the pageant which was televised live from Las Vegas earlier today.

But runner-up Miss California Carrie Prejean garnered most of the attention after her answer to a question about legalising same sex marriage.

Gossip guru Hilton asked Ms Prejean: "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalise same-sex marriage … do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?" She replied: "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage."

"And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.

"No offence to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Some of the audience cheered while others booed.

Others argued in the lobby, the Daily Telegraph reports.

"It's ugly," gay man Scott Ihrig was quoted as saying.

"I think it's ridiculous that she got first runner-up.

"That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience.

"Look around this audience and tell me how many gay men there are."

Charmaine Koonce, the mother of Miss New Mexico USA Bianca Carla, disagreed, saying: "In the Bible it says marriage is between Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve."

It is the second time this month that the pageant has been hit with controversy after Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza posted a blog entry about a trip to Guantanamo Bay.

Ms Mendoza described the trip to the infamous prison as "aloooot of fun".

JOIN THE CONVERSATION: PRESIDENT OBAMA’S FIRST 100 DAYS

"If there are no images, then you create a supply-and-demand problem where the supply is none and the demand is huge," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said. "If there is at least some supply that continues in a way that is respectful to who they are, you drive down the price and the paparazzi is not part of the equation."

The efforts have yielded political benefits for a president who, not long ago, was viewed by many as a rarity: a biracial candidate with roots in Hawaii, Kenya and Indonesia whose campaign was routinely forced to swat down rumors that he was a Muslim. On election day, polls showed that many Americans still were not sure whether Obama shared their values; now surveys show approval ratings in the 60s with a vast majority saying they trust him.

Michelle Obama, who scored dismal poll ratings last year when critics accused her of disrespecting America, now scores higher numbers than her husband -- in the 70s.

Much of the family coverage is coordinated by Michelle Obama's office and guided, in part, by a newly hired aide with unusual experience in the industries that shape image. Camille Johnston, a former aide to the Gore family, has worked as an executive in the magazine and entertainment worlds and until recently headed the Dodgers' communications department.

Since November, American magazine readers have seen a steady stream of coverage lionizing the Obamas and their marriage -- with access parceled out to Vogue, People, Essence and O, Oprah Winfrey's magazine.

"The Obama team has been masterful in the management of the image and the allocation of stories," said Angela Burt-Murray, editor of Essence, a magazine geared toward black women that was given access to Michelle Obama and her mother for a spread on their family life. "There's definitely a science to the way they're approaching this."

Embracing celebrity news outlets is nothing new for presidents or political figures, who are usually eager to relate to average Americans. The Clintons and Bushes sought coverage in People magazine, Ladies' Home Journal and other media that would showcase the families' softer sides. Bill Clinton inaugurated the tradition of appearing on late-night network television shows.

But White House aides and celebrity news executives say the Obamas are taking this engagement to a new level -- a result of intense public interest in the first black occupants of the White House and of the Obamas' desire to portray themselves as regular folks.

The White House last month welcomed a correspondent from "Extra," a celebrity TV show, for a sit-down interview with social secretary Desiree Rogers, a close Obama friend. One portion was headlined, "Obama Family: A to Z!"

Rogers assured viewers that the Obamas are "real people." She said that the first lady "maybe likes food a little bit more" and the president "would be satisfied just to have a salad and a boiled egg."

"They're much more fun to cover," said Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, senior executive producer of "Extra." "Michelle, with her friendship with Oprah, is just such a player in this world. And that love story with him -- it's almost too good to be true."

Last week, the Obama family put itself front and center as daughters Malia and Sasha joined their parents on the White House lawn for two made-for-television events. The girls participated in the annual Easter Egg Roll, and then starred in one of Washington's great media frenzies as they introduced Bo, their new Portuguese water dog. The pictures of the girls frolicking with the puppy were carried by celebrity and mainstream news outlets alike.

The White House also recently struck deals leading to favorable personality-driven coverage in two of the country's most prestigious newspapers -- promising the New York Times an exclusive look at the first lady's vegetable garden and the Washington Post the scoop on the puppy.

The Post, however, was beaten by an unusual rival: the celebrity website TMZ.com. Unnamed White House staff also provided some inside details on the dog to Us Weekly in time for the magazine to feature a photo spread of Bo's first trip to the White House.

For Us Weekly, this was a continuation of a relationship that began during the campaign. The magazine is owned by Jann Wenner, founder of Rolling Stone magazine and an unabashed Obama backer. Last spring, the Obamas confided with Us magazine's millions of readers that Michelle got her celebrity news from the weekly. Obama, though refusing to answer whether he wore boxers or briefs, said, "Whatever one it is, I look good in 'em!"

Joey Lawrence dishes on this year’s Dancing with the Stars and Dancing Video

Joey Lawrence dishes on this year’s Dancing with the Stars, how he found fame and My Fake Fiance. Fake Fiance pairs him with Melissa Joan Hart in the ABC Family original movie airing April 19.

Joey Lawrence became a household name starring in the ‘90s sitcom Blossom. Although Mayim Bialik was the star, it was Lawrence that became a sensation. After five seasons on the hit show, Lawrence did not go far from the public consciousness.

In one of the most epic battles in Dancing with the Stars history, Lawrence made it to the hit ABC show’s 2006 finals opposite Mario Lopez and Emmitt Smith. The former Cowboy Smith won, but in hindsight, most believe that Lopez and Lawrence split the vote and Smith emerged victor.

Lawrence calls SheKnows and shares a few thoughts on starring with Melissa Joan Hart in My Fake Fiance, a lifetime in show business and how his turn on Dancing with the Stars stoked a competitive fire within him that to this day still has him gazing n the show and thinking: ‘I could take him.’

Anne Hathaway looking for prince

'Princess Diaries' actress Anne Hathaway, who split from long-term boyfriend Raffaello Follieri last year, still believes in love and wants a Prince Charming to "rescue" her.

Anne Hathaway believes in the "perfect" man.

The actress - who split from long-term boyfriend Raffaello Follieri last year after he was accused of fraud - insists she is over her heartbreak and still believes in true love.

Anne, who is currently dating actor Adam Shulman, said: "I think the perfect partner exists, of course I believe so. I know he's somewhere.

"My prince charming is kind, patient, has a sense of humour and rescues me from the dizzy, frenetic, fast-paced rhythm of this life."

Despite her successes, the Oscar-nominated star admits she still struggles to feel like she belongs at prestigious events.

She explained: "The Venice Film Festival was a wonderful moment for me. At these events, I always feel like a little girl playing dress-up. I kept expecting that at any moment, someone would come up to me and say, 'How did you get in here?' and throw me out."

Drew Barrymore Talks About Almost Directing 'Eclipse'

Drew Barrymore may have made the shortlist of directors up for the chance to helm "Eclipse," the third installment of the "Twlight" franchise, but that distinction reportedly may go to Juan Antonio Bayona. At the "Grey Gardens" premiere, the actress told MTV News just how badly she wanted to work with the likes of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

"Oh, I wish that I was! I adore that project and I adore the team that's making it," she said. "And I am very honored to now be a director and going up for other movies and being offered other movies as a director. I'm now an actor/producer/director! How lucky am I!"

Back in February, word began to spread that Barrymore was one of the directors being considered to helm the project. Her directorial debut, "Whip It!," a comedy about a female roller-derby team, is currently waiting for a release date.

"Eclipse" has a June 10, 2010, release date, and filming will presumably begin soon after the completion of "New Moon," which is already under way in Vancouver.

In earlier interviews, before she was passed up to direct "Eclipse," the actress seemed eager to join the project. "I'm one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I'm a director now," Barrymore said. "But, you know, they'll make their choice."

DEAR STACY: Could you tell me what happened to Timmy Hovey who was in movies such as "The Toy Tiger" in the '50s, and what other movies he appeared in? — Bruce L., Woodbridge, Va.

DEAR BRUCE: Hovey's successful career as a child actor included TV work on such shows as "Lux Video Theatre" and "Cimarron City," as well as movies including Jock Mahoney's "Slim Carter" (1957), Maureen O'Hara's "Everything But the Truth (1956), and Charlton Heston's "The Private War of Major Benson (1955). In the '60s, he hooked up with The Grateful Dead, working as an engineer and road manager for the band. Hovey died at age 44 in 1989, of a drug overdose. Some reports called it a suicide.

DEAR STACY: I miss Lauren Graham on television. Any chance of her returning with another series? — C.L., Santa Monica, Calif.

DEAR C.L.: Yes. She is expected to star in "The Bridget Show," now in its pilot phase, for ABC. The half hour comedy series has the former "Gilmore Girls" star as a popular talk show host/relationships expert whose career sank like a stone after she went off with the man of her dreams only to be dumped a few years later — and who is trying to make a comeback. Jeffrey Tambor co-stars and Barry Sonnenfeld ("Pushing Daisies," "Men in Black") directs the pilot.

DEAR STACY: What has become of John M. Jackson of "Jag"? — Dave A., Brooklyn, N.Y.

DEAR DAVE: He's continued to act, with a list of series guest credits including "Knight Rider," "Grey's Anatomy," and six episodes of "Bones" in the 2005-06 season. He and his wife Jana have two children, daughter Katherine and son Conor — who plays first base for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

DEAR STACY: Help, please! There is a commercial with very sexy and mysterious music in it that I thought was going to be about a spy show. But it turned out to be about Finish dishwashing detergent. Can you give me the name of this music and tell whether it's available? I can't get it off my mind. — Greg H., Kearny, N.J.

DEAR GREG: You're referring to Gotan Project's scintillating "Epoca," from the group's album, "La Revancha Del Tango." It is available via Amazon.com and other Internet outlets, and there's a video on YouTube.

American Idol Tweaks Judging Process Again

As the old adage goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. American Idol will go back to its usual way of judging the contestants—each judge gives a critique—on Tuesday night's performance show, according to a set source.

Last week, in an attempt to keep from going over its allotted time as it had the week before, the producers opted for "judging in pairs," in which Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul would judge one contestant, and Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi would judge the next contestant, and so on.

Fans were not pleased...

Across the Internet, Idol fans lit up the message boards against the new way of judging. Watch With Kristin's own poll showed 68.2 percent of the fans voting against voting in pairs and saying they want to hear what all four judges have to say about each performance.

That said, fans who took our poll also voted on which judge they can do without, and the results were surprising (Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi, neck in neck?!)

Which judge can you do without?
Kara DioGuardi, 44.3 percent
Paula Abdul, 35.7 percent
Randy Jackson, 17.4 percent
Simon Cowell, 2.6 percent

Are you happy the show's returning to normal on Tuesday?

Amy Smart enjoys pole dancing

To get into character, actors often need to learn new tricks or change their looks. For the Crank sequel, actress Amy Smart had to go for pole-dancing lessons, and though it was weird at first, she eventually fell in love with the routine. Now she vows she will do it for a long time to come because it’s a great workout and because it keeps her boyfriend hooked to her!

"It was sexually liberating and really fun. It takes a lot of work to make it look easy. It's really awkward in the beginning but I had fun. At one point, I wondered if I would ever pick it up. I loved my routine to Billy Squire's song 'Stroke Me'. That'll get you going on the pole!" she says. Adding, "Prior to working on this film, I had taken a few classes of pole-dancing and striptease at Sheila Kelly’s S Factor studio in Los Angeles. It's a really great place for women because it's very sexual and very female empowering. I think I'll get back into that because it was a great workout and a great class, and there are no mirrors so you don't have to feel insecure watching yourself, seeing how you look; you just sort of feel it in your body."

Pellicano case Movie director indicted on counts related

A Hollywood film director who pleaded guilty three years ago to lying to the FBI in connection with the Anthony Pellicano investigation, then withdrew his plea, was indicted Friday by a federal grand jury in Los Angeles.

John McTiernan faces two counts of making false statements to federal agents and one count of perjury for a statement to a federal judge while seeking to withdraw his plea, federal authorities said.

McTiernan, who directed the action thriller "Die Hard," was one of seven people who pleaded guilty to charges connected to the Pellicano case before it went to trial last year. Before he was sentenced, McTiernan asked the judge to allow him to withdraw his plea, arguing that he would not have agreed to plead guilty if his attorney at the time had given him better legal advice.

The judge denied the request, but McTiernan filed an appeal with the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ordered the lower court to hold a hearing to consider the director's request. The court ultimately granted the request after the U.S. attorney's office said it did not oppose withdrawal of the plea.

Friday's indictment contains the charges to which McTiernan had earlier agreed to plead guilty, as well as a new charge of lying in court proceedings, in which he sought to change his plea, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Daniel Saunders.

McTiernan's attorney, S. Todd Neal, questioned prosecutors' motives in adding the new charge.

"There seems to be retribution because John refused to play ball the way the prosecutors wanted and because we were successful on appeal," Neal said. "We will vigorously defend this case."

Pellicano was convicted of wiretapping producer Charles Roven on McTiernan's behalf. During the job, the private detective complained -- in a taped phone conversation in 2000 -- about having to listen to a huge volume of calls to get useful information.

"You can't have the thing on there listening for particular words or names?" asked McTiernan.

"Nah, nah, nah," Pellicano said. "That's in the movies."

Hollywood Exhales: Actors, Producers Make a Deal!

Our long national nightmare is over.

After nearly a year's worth of posturing, the Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers today announced a tentative agreement to keep peace in Hollywood.

Details of the new three-year deal, which covers television and film projects (online fare was curiously omitted from the joint statement), will not be disclosed until the SAG board of directors gets together Sunday night.

At that point the board will announce the fine print to the guild's 120,000 members for ratification.

The threat of a strike has loomed over Hollywood since the old contract expired in June 2008. Over the better part of the year, the two parties have engaged in some bare-knuckled brinkmanship that saw SAG split with fellow acting union the American Federation of TV & Radio Artists and internal strife that led to the ouster of SAG's prostrike president, Alan Rosenberg.

After the 70,000-strong AFTRA struck an agreement with producers in July 2008, many SAG members believed the guild's negotiation position was weakened and pushed for a quick resolution, with A-listers lined up on different sides of the issue.

George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Cameron Diaz, Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman and Eva Longoria Parker sought an accord, while Mel Gibson, Ed Harris, Holly Hunter, Martin Sheen, Sandra Oh, Jerry O'Connell, Ed Asner, Elliott Gould, Justine Bateman, Scott Bakula and Diane Ladd pushed for hard-line tactics, including a work stoppage.

In February, SAG rejected a "last, best and final offer" for a new contract from AMPTP, setting the stage for a union-authorized strike vote, which ultimately never happened.

Body Issues in Hollywood Tori Spelling Reveals Struggle

Newly-svelte Tori Spelling does not have anorexia – but the 90210 star and mother of two acknowledges that the pressure to look a certain way in Hollywood is a struggle.

"I knew as soon as I left the house a week, even two weeks after giving birth, [to daughter Stella] people are going to take pictures and scrutinize," Spelling tells PEOPLE. "Whereas mothers everywhere don't even think about losing the weight for a year. It was hard to find that balance of what's acceptable."

The naturally slender actress, who says she didn't worry about pressure to be thin until she was in the media spotlight in her 20s, says she noticed that some Hollywood moms bounced back to their pre-baby shape in just weeks.

"After I had Liam, the weight didn't just fly right off. I had to diet and exercise," says the actress who gained 40 pounds after giving birth to son Liam, 2, and daughter Stella, 10 months. "When I had Stella, I remember looking at Jessica Alba [after she gave birth] and thinking, 'Wait a minute, it flew right off her.' Then I read that she works out six days a week and I'm like, 'Oh God, no, I can't do that.' "

Good Eating Habits

A sensible diet – three balanced meals a day with mostly organic products – and exercising with her family helped Spelling drop the pounds in seven months. Her husband Dean McDermott, whom she married in 2006, is staunchly supportive of Spelling. When the tabloids were speculating about the reasons for her weight loss, "his biggest concern was my self-confidence," she says. "He just kept reassuring me, 'I think you're beautiful and perfect no matter what you weigh, I just want you to be healthy."

Spelling, 35, and McDermott, 42, especially scoffed at one report that claimed she had yelled at him because he told her she was too thin. "First of all, it would never get to that point – it would be an ongoing conversation because we're together every day," says the actress. "If people say I'm thin, I'm like, 'Great babe, make me a meal.' He's an awesome cook."

Says McDermott, "She is really good at eating healthy. She's just as strict and driven with her diet as she is with work."

Spelling insists she'll have more time to concentrate on herself once her busy schedule tapers off. "When it rains, it pours – everything's happening at once. My book is coming out, our fourth season of Tori & Dean is coming out, 90210 … Afterwards I'll be able to slow down and really focus on me a little bit more," she says. "Every woman, we all have different lifestyles but that's what we all need at the end of day – just to be able to breathe."

Miley Cyrus still adjusting to life as a superstar

Miley Cyrus has become a teen idol playing the squeaky-clean heroine of "Hannah Montana," the smash-hit television series about a normal adolescent who leads a double life as a pop star.

Yet as the 16-year-old Disney protege continues her meteoric rise in cinemas this week with the release of "Hannah Montana: The Movie", Cyrus admits there is one role that she is still getting used to: superstar.

"People are always saying I?m over-working and over-exposed and that I want the attention but that's not what I want at all," Cyrus told a recent press conference ahead of her film's release in North America this Friday.

"I can?t help it if there are 40 photographers outside my house, I try to keep my life as private as I can," Cyrus adds.

"If I had known coming into this that I would have all those photographers outside my house I might have given it all a second thought."

In just three short years since the first season of "Hannah Montana" made its debut on the Disney Channel, Cyrus has become a fully-fledged phenomenon.

As well as the success of "Hannah Montana", which is now into its third season, Cyrus has launched a successful solo singing career with both of her first two albums debuting at the top of the charts.

The Nashville-born teenager has also enjoyed record-breaking concert tours, helped create designs for a "Hannah Montana" clothing line and recently voiced a character in the hit animated film "Bolt."

The youngster's success led to her inclusion on Forbes.com's "Celebrity 100" list, where she ranked at 35 with estimated earnings of 25 million dollars between 2007 and 2008.

Cyrus's emergence has not been without the occasional hitch, although she has never suffered the sort of negative publicity that has bedeviled two other former Disney child stars, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

A semi-naked portrait of the child star by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair magazine last year triggered an outcry, with parents reportedly outraged by the shoot.

Cyrus, who later distanced herself from the photos, freely admits that she has to follow a steep learning curve.

"I'm going to make mistakes and I wouldn?t trade that for anything because I always say the minute you stop making mistakes is the minute you stop learning," she says.

"I never want to disappoint people and my decisions sometimes not only disappoint other people, but disappoint myself as well. If I don?t then, all of a sudden I am not real and then you really can?t look up to me."

Nevertheless she is uncomfortable with being regarded as an idol.

"If you look at me as a role model I agree with it, but if you look at me as an idol, I don't," Cyrus said.

"An idol for me is someone you want to replicate, you want to be them and I don't wish that on anyone, to lose what they have personally."

Cyrus' father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, has had a ringside seat at his daughter's spectacular emergence as a showbusiness powerhouse, having appeared in both the television series and the movie.

"This movie is for all of us a celebration of our lives and art imitating life imitating art," Cyrus says.

"We are celebrating the journey we've been on for the last few years. It's about remembering who you are, where you're going and where you've come from."

"The most important law to me is to stay Miley's best friend, sometime I'm her psychologist. We came into this thing as best friends. I have full confidence in my daughter and her professional decisions."

Meanwhile "Hannah Montana" director Peter Chelsom says Cyrus has a star quality comparable to some of Hollywood's most famous names.

"I didn't know who Cyrus or Hannah Montana were when my agent asked me if I'd be interested in directing the flick," Chelsom said. "Later, I caught an appearance by Miley on Oprah. I was blown away.

"I just thought, you know there is no way this girl shouldn't be ranked with Shirley Temple or Judy Garland."

Jamie Foxx apologizes to Miley Cyrus: 'I didn't mean it maliciously'

Jamie Foxx apologized Tuesday night on "The Tonight Show" for the rude remarks he made about Miley Cyrus on his Sirius radio show, "The Foxxhole," last weekend.

First, Foxx came armed with a bottle of Cristal to give to Jay Leno. Then he did a comedy routine about his pal P. Diddy and his treacherous birthday plane ride and accepted congrats for his song, "Blame it on the Alcohol," being the No. 1 song.

Then he does a few minutes of the song, which is about all the things -- including sleeping with people you don't know -- that you do when you're drunk. Hey, maybe that was behind the Miley Cyrus remarks

After Leno asked him about the controversial remarks, Foxx delivered this mea culpa.

“I so apologize, and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it. And sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far.

"I have a radio show.… We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart.

"Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand.”

We can't excerpt his actual words here. But he and his radio pals -- after talking about Miley dissing Radiohead for not wanting to meet her -- made fun of Miley's gums, told her to "make a sex tape and grow up," do heroin, smoke crack and get a sexually transmitted disease from a bicycle seat. And we paraphrase.

BTW, notice that Foxx took much more time to talk about his Oscar-buzzed film, "The Soloist," and his role as a real-life schizophrenic musician, than he did to apologize to Miley.

Scarlett Johansson is getting her body into action-hero

Scarlett Johansson is getting her body into action-hero shape through good old-fashioned exercise.

"There is no magic wand to wave over oneself to look good in a latex catsuit," Johansson, 24, who is currently working on “Iron Man 2,” writes on the Huffington Post. "Eating healthy and getting fit is about commitment, determination, consistency and the dedication to self-preservation."

Detailing her regimen of "pull-ups, crunches, lunges, squats, jumping jacks, planks, walking, jogging and push ups," the actress, who says she's getting into "superhero shape," addresses misinformation about how she's arrived at her newly toned figure.

"Claims have been made that I've been on a strict workout routine regulated by costars, whipped into shape by trainers I've never met, eating sprouted grains I can't pronounce and ultimately losing 14 pounds off my 5'3" frame," she writes. "Losing 14 pounds out of necessity in order to live a healthier life is a huge victory."

Putting things into perspective, she continues: "I'm a petite person to begin with, so the idea of my losing this amount of weight is utter lunacy. If I were to lose 14 pounds, I'd have to part with both arms. And a foot."
