As with all long-running businesses, the selling of films has become ever-more sophisticated over the years. Audiences are now broken down into clear demographics and movies are conceived and pruned to target them. Perhaps the biggest market to have been recognised and tapped by major studios in recent times is the tweenie girl market, females who are still children but moving quickly towards maturity. Naturally, new stars were required to front the films and, predictably, there were many, many applicants. Many applicants but only two clear winners - Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. Both would score smash hits onscreen, and both would engage in parallel careers in music. But it was Lohan, perhaps because of an already impressively lengthy CV, who'd come out on top. In 2004, Rob Friedman, Vice President of Paramount would say of her "Right now she's the reigning teen queen. Lindsay is identifiable. She's not an unreal personality. Audiences can relate to her". And how. Freaky Friday was a massive hit, she then headlined another in Mean Girls, then shared top billing with the world's most famous VW Beetle in Herbie: Fully Loaded. And she was smart about it, too. Though her stock had risen to the point where she was paid $7.5 million for playing the lead in the light comedy Just My Luck, she also cleverly sought out adult movie-making experience by taking a bit-part as Meryl Streep's daughter in Robert Altman's A Prairie Home Companion. The reigning teen queen was clearly preparing herself for the long haul.
She was born Lindsay Dee Lohan on the 2nd of July, 1986, spending her early years in Laurel Hollow, a tiny residential village on the western shore of Cold Spring Harbour, Long Island, New York. This place was a fair reflection of her Irish-Italian Catholic family's fortunes at this point. A former whaling village, it had been popularised in the early 1900s by well-to-do New Yorkers like Louis Comfort Tiffany, son of the founder of Tiffany's, who founded estates there. As time passed the area became famed for its bird sanctuary, the Muttontown Preserve woodlands and then a genetic and cancer research centre that spawned three Nobel Prize winners. Though just a few miles outside the New York conurbation, it was leafy, sparsely populated and rich. Come the year 2000 its population was still 91.3% white with a median income of over $200,000. It was Gatsby country.
So, the Lohans were doing well. Lindsay's father Michael was a Wall Street trader who'd apparently helped build up his family's pasta business. Unfortunately, his business dealings would be far from transparent, leading to much trouble both for himself and his family.

Lindsay Lohan launching comeback website

Scheduled to be released from the Betty Ford Center for drug and alcohol abuse today, Lindsay Lohan has been attempting to stage a major comeback, establish some stability in her career and sense in her life since late 2009 when she voluntarily admitted herself into the institution.
She most recently starred in Machete, which was released in 2010. The film, which has so far grossed more than US $37 million, is set to have two sequels and is set to start Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba again.
The actress, singer and model posed for a photo-shoot for her comeback website and it seems that the marketing group for Lindsay Lohan are now just waiting for an appropriate event or announcement to launch the site with.

Lindsay Lohan in court again, claims to be the victim

She has always had a very good sense of style and has been the face for various fashion labels including MiuMiu, Jill Stuart and Fornarina as well as launching her own clothing line, 6126.
In recent years, however, her career has been going downhill what with trips to rehabilitation centers and jail. She has recently made an effort to revitalize her career through Labor Films in 2009 and Machete in 2010.
Most recently though, after several misdemeanors and trips to the court, she had voluntarily entered the Betty Ford Center, which is a drug and alcohol treatment center.
It was reported yesterday, first by TMZ, that a staffer of the institute was claiming to be the victim of battery in an altercation with Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay on the other hand claims that she is the victim and that witnesses and the surveillance video will show that.

Lindsy Lohan is Back
Lindsay Lohan was released from jail at 1:35am this morning after serving just 13 days of a 90 day prison sentence. Officially she spent 14 days in jail, but that’s because LA county sheriff Lee Baca is a pussy who thinks it’s cute to play little paperwork tricks. She was discharged at 1:35am, but the process to release her reportedly began at 12:01am, and the sheriff counts that :01 as a new day in jail. This way both the sheriff and Lindsay can pad their stats while Lindsay gets inconvenienced as little as possible. I think we can all agree that’s what counts.

Lindsay Lohan Goes to Jail
Showing up seven minutes late for the moment she's been dreading over the past two weeks, Mean Girl Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Los Angeles courthouse on Tuesday morning (July 20). With her parents, Michael and Dina, both on-hand, the "Mean Girls" starlet was represented by Shawn Chapman Holley - who started by telling Jude Revel that Robert Shapiro was only consulted - never actual legal representation. During the course of the short hearing, Lindsay was told that she must report to probation within 24-hours of being released from The Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. Looking to be nervous, as could be expected, Miss Lohan was then placed in handcuffs - as all cameras were ordered to be turned off - before being led to an awaiting police cruiser for transport to Century Regional. As previously reported by Gossip Center, LiLo was sentenced to 90 days in jail for probation violation, while many experts predict a stay of somewhere closer to 23 days.

Four days into the New Year, Lindsay Lohan’s resolution to stay drama-free has already failed. Us Magazine is reporting that LiLo’s longtime BFF Patrick “Pootie” Aufdenkamp stole the design sketches to her clothing line, with plans to debut his own line at NYC Fashion week in February.
A source said: “It’s horrible. He was her best friend. He has always used her, and she’s been warned to never trust him. Lindsay is a good friend and likes to see the good in people. She didn’t want to believe how bad Patrick’s energy was, and how false his friendship has always been with her.”
Lindsay was all about removing negative influences in her life for the New Year. Too bad the negative influence had to leave with her life’s work!

Lindsay Lohan and the case of the missing jewels
Poor, troubled Lindsay Lohan, she can't seem to catch a break (or maybe she's not really trying?). Anyway, there was a shocking jewelry theft at a London photo shoot a few weeks ago — $400,000 worth of diamonds — and some observers seem to think Linds had something to do with it. Why? Well, because she was there.
But there were reportedly 20 other people there, you say, so isn't it a little unfair to simply point the finger at a struggling straight-to-cable film actress?
Yes and No. Yes, because, sure, anyone could have snatched the jewels. No, because this isn't the first time Lohan has been at the center of such nefarious accusations.
British media said the jewels were made by Dior and loaned to Elle magazine for the shoot in north London on June 6. The theft was reported to police a couple of days later. Police have made no arrests, and are interviewing several people in connection with their inquiry. A representative for Lohan said she was not being investigated personally and she had not yet been questioned by police. "No one has contacted us" about it, said the spokeswoman.
On the shoot, according to an insider quoted by a gossip site who may or may not have made up this quote, "She kept going on about the jewels, asking if she could have them. We all thought she was joking."

Did Lindsay Lohan Swipe Bling From a Photo Shoot?
Lindsay Lohan has been cast in yet another personal scandal, this time the case of the missing jewels.
Lohan's name has been linked with the mysterious disappearance of nearly half a million dollars of jewels from the set of her London photo shoot for a spread in Elle magazine.
London's Metropolitan police confirmed to the Associated Press that a necklace and a pair of earrings worth around $411,315 went missing after the early June shoot.
The young starlet's involvement in the apparent jewelry heist has not yet been confirmed, according to a police spokesman who refused to say whether Lohan had been questioned in regard to the case.
Elle magazine said in a statement that it "did not believe Lohan was in any way linked to the alleged theft."
Messages left with Lohan's publicist by ABCNews.com were not immediately returned, but the star's rep told People magazine that the actress hopes the jewels are found.
"We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's rep told the magazine. "Hair, make up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."
This is just the most recent of several incidents that have left Lohan's family convinced she needs help -- and fast.
Her family and people close to her think she could benefit from an intervention by Hollywood's most popular healer: Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Lohan, whose recent breakup with her lesbian partner Samantha Ronson has been covered by the media, stars in a dating profile posted online Monday on FunnyOrDie.com that parodies similar videos created for matchmaking company eHarmony, reports the China Daily online.
"I would define my personality as creative, a bit of a night owl... I'm a workaholic, a shopaholic and according to the state of California, an alcoholic as well as a threat to all security guards if they work at hotels," she said.
Lindsay Lohan seems to have turned a new leaf after the split with DJ Samantha Ronson and dating numerous Hollywood celebrities as the actress has now found love in a web entrepreneur.
