Natalie Portman, who stars in the lead role in the dark drama Black Swan, has been nominated for the Best Actress category in the Academy Awards for that same role. In an interview with US.com, the 29 year old actress said that she was honored and grateful to the Academy for the recognition.Other nominees in the category were Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Annette Bening and Michelle Williams. It is widely expected that Natalie Portman will face the toughest competition for the award from Annette Bening for her role in the film The Kids Are All Right.
Natalie Portman has starred in many critically acclaimed films including Brothers, The Other Boleyn Girl, My Blueberry Nights, V For Vendetta among others. She is engaged to Benjamin Millepied and expecting a child together.
