Harrison Ford has become the top earning Hollywood actor over the past 12 months by raking in more than 43.3 million pounds.

The veteran actor earned his huge pay cheque for his Indiana Jones comeback role in The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, reported the sun.co.uk.

The 66-year-old was lured out of semi-retirement by director Steven Spielberg to play the archaeologist. The fourth movie in the series earned more than 500 million pounds worldwide.

After “Meet Dave” last year, “Imagine That” was Mr. Murphy’s second consecutive bomb, selling about $5.7 million in tickets and opening outside of the Top 5. “The Hangover” repeated as the weekend’s No. 1 film, with an estimated $33.4 million in sales (and a new total of $105.4 million). “Up” was second, showing remarkable strength in its third weekend with about $30.5 million ($187.2 million total). Rounding out the Top 5 were “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,” with about $9.6 million ($143.4 million) and “Land of the Lost,” with about $9.2 million ($35 million).

Russia has turned to the traffic-stopping good looks of Brad Pitt to reduce speeding, according to Entertainment Weekly. While a naked Brad Pitt might have a more immediate affect, Russian law enforcement has chosen to decorate a cardboard cutout of the Hollywood hunk as a traffic cop for safety’s sake and place him amid the streets of Siberia.

Pitt’s likeness, which was only reserved for the most dangerous streets of the city of Omsk, in Siberia, seems to have had a positive effect on slowing traffic so far. The idea was reportedly that of Omsk official Dmitry Ziryanov, who said that the use of Pitt’s image to help his city was okay with him, saying Pitt is “kind of like a colleague for us.”

According to the Associated Press, once haphazard drivers are actually slowing down in a starstruck gaze at the sight of Pitt, even if he is just a cutout.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Raise your glasses to "The Hangover."

The raunchy comedy with a largely unknown cast logged a second consecutive weekend atop the North American box office with estimated three-day sales of $33.4 million, said distributor Warner Bros. Pictures.

The Las Vegas-set hijinks, with a surprisingly strong $105.4 million banked after 10 days, easily fended off a pair of new entries boasting some major star power.

Columbia Pictures' remake of the 1974 subway-hijacking thriller "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, opened at No. 3 with $25 million, in line with expectations.

Eddie Murphy, on the other hand, scored his second consecutive summer bomb, this time with the Paramount Pictures family comedy "Imagine That," which opened at No. 6 with $5.7 million. The comic previously starred in "Meet Dave," which opened to $5 million last July and finished with $12 million.

Walt Disney Pictures Pixar cartoon "Up" held at No. 2 with $30.5 million, taking its total to $187.2 million after three weekends. The previous Pixar release, "Wall-E," had earned $163 million in the same span last summer.

Rounding out the top five were the Ben Stiller comedy hit sequel "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" (Fox) which held steady at No. 4 with $9.6 million in its fourth weekend; and the latest Will Ferrell bomb "Land of the Lost" (Universal), which fell two places to No. 5 with $5.6 million in its second weekend. Their respective totals stand at $143.4 million and $35 million.

Industry pundits expect "The Hangover" to hit $200 million -- not bad for a movie that cost a reported $31 million to make. The action revolves around three guys struggling to remember what happened at a wild bachelor party the night before. It stars Justin Bartha, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, and was directed by Todd Phillips of "Old School" fame.

In taking 10 days to hit $100 million, it set a new speed record for an R-rated film, surpassing the 11-day mark set last year by "Sex and the City." It also becomes the first movie to enjoy a second weekend at No. 1 since "Madea Goes to Jail" in February.

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon will be launching her own perfume

The Legally Blonde star, who is a model for Avon, will team up with the cosmetics firm's scent experts to create signature perfume In Bloom, reported contactmusic.com.

Reese’s fragrance will feature hints of gardenia, magnolia and jasmine. The actress revealed that she chose those ingredients as they remind her of home.

"In developing ‘In Bloom’, I found myself drawn to the scents of my childhood in Tennessee. We had a great big magnolia tree in the backyard, and it's that beautiful white blossom that inspired the perfume," Reese said.

"'In Bloom' is (also) indicative of where I am in my life today. I'm feeling very strong and independent, and so happy, so full of life. The fragrance truly captures that feeling - it's very sensual, very romantic and alluring," she added.

'In Bloom' is expected to hit the stores in November.

Always outspoken and candid, Transformers 2’s Megan Fox proved in a recent Entertainment Weekly interview that she may be self-confident, but she’s not delusional:

I think I could be [a good actress]. If I really buckle down, I think one day I could be a very good actress. But so far, I haven’t done anything yet.

Which means she doesn’t consider working with director Michael Bay on Transformers, which more or less put her on the map, “an acting experience” unless “you’re a seasoned veteran”. And the girl makes no pretense about Transformers 2 being “the greatest movie on earth. It’s going to be the best action movie of the summer ... But it’s not trying to be a Golden Globe-nominated film.”

Beyond her film choices, Fox admits that on a personal level, she doesn’t understand why people are so obsessed with her. “I don’t feel like I had to climb a ladder,” she said, “... it doesn’t feel like I’ve earned it.”

Fox believes, however, her “outrageous personality” did play a role in her fame: "I think if I had been a typical Hollywood actress and I said all the right things and I had been a publicity android, it wouldn’t have escalated to this level." But Megan, isn't saying "outrageous" things part of being "a publicity android"?

Publicity android or not, Megan Fox wants all comparisons to end here -- even if they include the proper nouns "Angelina" and "Jolie": “I think it’s a lack of creativity on the media’s part. Because I have tattoos and dark hair and I was in an action movie? That’s as far as the similarities extend. I’m not the next anyone."

I confess I was a little skeptical when I first heard that Twilight's Kristen Stewart would be playing Joan Jett in the big screen rock bio The Runaways. I've liked Stewart since her turn as Jodie Foster's no-nonsense kid in 2002's Panic Room, but her more recent incarnation as Twilight's damsel in distress didn't exactly scream "rock goddess" to me. (I will state, for the record, that Joan Jett could kick Edward's ass from here to that eternity he's living in.) But after seeing the latest photo of Stewart with her new black, shaggy rocker 'do, I will admit: It really does suit her, and I'm maybe, possibly beginning to see it. What about you? Are you starting to like the idea of Stewart as a Runaway?
